A calf while grazing on a lot about a block, south of Plymouth street fell into an abandoned mine Thurs­day and was rescued by firemen late Saturday afternoon

The animal came up missing Thursday, but its discovery was not made in .the mine until Saturday afternoon. The service company from headquarters was called to the scene and after some difficulty brought the animal to the surface.
