Heroic Rescue Is Staged By Firemen

Stranger than fiction, perhaps, is the story of a fire company being called out to take a bird out of a tree. Nevertheless this was true Friday when members of Engine 4 of the Dubuque fire department were summoned to 1075 Julien avenue, where a robin, building a nest, became entangled in the material and was unable to release himself (or herself). A resident of that section noted the predicament of the robin and telephoned the firemen, who responded and freed the bird.
